Cambridge United vs Altrincham

Match Preview

Tonight's match at The Abbey would be one of Altrincham's most testing Blue Square Premier fixtures under any circumstances. As it is, The Robins currently have an injury-ravaged squad with a critical lack of forwards. The onus will be on the defence to repel all that Cambridge throw at them, with Chris Denham likely to be given the responsibility of trying to nick a goal on the break.

What The Alty Fans Think...
- "I suspect that the appropriate phrase that we are looking for on this occasion is 'damage limitation exercise'"
- "It'll be an heroic effort to avoid defeat"

What The Cambridge Fans Think...
- "I'm going to go for 1-0 to Cambridge"
- "Altrincham usually take something from the Abbey, but hopefully it'll be a bit different this time. We're defending very well at the moment (only conceeded once in four) and we've scored 10 in our last two home matches"

Voice of Golf Road Prediction

2-0 to the hosts, with a commendable performance from a depleted Alty.
